Patricia Highsmith

Patricia Highsmith (1921–1995) was an American writer. She grew up in Texas and New York and studied literature and zoology. Before establishing herself as a novelist, she earned a living as a comic-book writer. Her first novel, Strangers on a Train, was published in 1950. Alfred Hitchcock’s film adaptation brought the work to a wide audience. Highsmith died in Locarno in 1995.
