Owen Sheers, born in Fiji in 1974 and raised in Wales, is a writer and dramatist. His published works include plays, libretti, poetry, nonfiction and novels. His debut novel, “Resistance,” was translated into ten languages and adapted for film with Michael Sheen in the lead role. Sheers has received, among other honors, the Somerset Maugham Award, the Hay Festival Poetry Medal and the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award.
