Oswald Spengler

Oswald Arnold Gottfried Spengler (1880–1936) was a German philosopher of history, cultural historian, and political writer. In addition to his principal work, he published chiefly political writings. He was an anti-democratic opponent of the Weimar Republic, but distanced himself from National Socialism and did not share key elements of its racial ideology. Because of his cultural and historical philosophy, he is often associated with Germany’s Conservative Revolution.
