Dr Oliver Schmidt studied viticulture, cellar management and oenology in Geisenheim, where he also earned his doctorate. He subsequently worked, among other roles, as a research assistant, winery manager, lecturer and teacher of cellar management. He also led experimental work in cellar management at the Teaching and Research Institute for Viticulture and Fruit Growing in Weinsberg.
