Oliver Sacks

Oliver Sacks (1933–2015) was a British neurologist, psychiatrist, and author. He was a professor of neurology and psychiatry at Columbia University and became internationally known for his literary case histories. His best-known books include *Awakenings*, *The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat*, *A Leg to Stand On*, and *The Mind’s Eye*. His book *Awakenings* was adapted into a 1990 film starring Robert De Niro and Robin Williams. Sacks published his autobiography, *On the Move*, in 2015.
