Oliver Buslau was born in Gießen in 1962 and grew up in Koblenz. He studied musicology and German in Cologne and Vienna, then worked for EMI Classics and as a music journalist. He began writing crime novels in the late 1990s. He became known for the series featuring Wuppertal private detective Remigius Rott and for music-related crime novels such as “Feuer im Elysium.” His nonfiction book “111 Werke der klassischen Musik, die man kennen muss” was published in 2017. In 2000, Buslau founded the magazine “TextArt.” He also performed as a violist in various classical ensembles.
