Olen Steinhauer grew up in Virginia and spent several years in Croatia, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Hungary. His crime novels earned him an Edgar Award nomination, and he received the Dashiell Hammett Award. His Milo Weaver trilogy was published in German as The Tourist, Last Exit, and The Spider. His novel The Cairo Affair remained on the KrimiZEIT list of recommended crime fiction for several months.
