Oksana Maksymchuk was born in 1982 in Lviv, Ukraine. She is a bilingual poet whose published work includes poetry collections in Ukrainian. She also served as co-editor of the anthology “Words for War: New Poems from Ukraine.” Maksymchuk received a translation fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and has received several awards. Her work “Still City” (Diary of an Invasion) was longlisted for the 2025 Griffin Poetry Prize and nominated for the PEN/Voelcker Award for Poetry. She holds a doctorate in ancient philosophy.
