Nossrat Peseschkian (1933–2010) was a physician and psychotherapist born in Iran. He was a specialist in neurology, psychiatry and psychotherapeutic medicine, and is regarded as the founder of Positive Psychotherapy and Transcultural Psychotherapy. Peseschkian founded and directed the Wiesbaden Academy of Psychotherapy and wrote numerous books, which have been translated into more than 25 languages.
