Nils Werner

Nils Werner (1927–1989) was a German poet, satirist, and author of children’s books. Born in Erfurt, he initially trained as a toolmaker before studying music at the Erfurt Conservatory from 1947 to 1950. From 1950, he worked for the satirical magazine Frischer Wind and later for its successor, Eulenspiegel. From 1953 onward, Werner worked as a freelance writer. His children’s books include Teddy Brumm and Alarm im Kasperletheater.
