Niklas Wagner

Niklas Wagner is a business economist and academic. He studied business administration at the University of Augsburg, where he also earned his doctorate, and completed his habilitation at the Technical University of Munich. He undertook research stays in Berkeley and Stanford. Wagner taught at institutions including TU Dresden, the Technical University of Munich, HHL Leipzig, Leibniz University Hannover, Zeppelin University, Corvinus University Budapest and EDHEC Business School. He held a chair in business administration with a focus on financial controlling at the University of Passau. His research has addressed corporate finance, international capital markets and financial management, with particular emphasis on controlling. Before pursuing an academic career, he spent four years working in portfolio management at HypoVereinsbank in Munich.
