Nikki Sixx became known as the founder, bassist and principal songwriter of the hard-rock band Mötley Crüe and also founded Sixx:A.M. As an author, he co-wrote the band biography “The Dirt” with Neil Strauss in 2001; it was adapted into a Netflix film in 2019. In “The Heroin Diaries” (2007), he addressed his drug addiction; the book was accompanied by a self-titled album by Sixx:A.M. His third book, “This Is Gonna Hurt” (2011), combined photography with personal reflections. Sixx has also worked as a photographer and presented the exhibition “Conversations with Angels” at Leica Gallery Los Angeles in 2017.
