Nick Hornby

Nick Hornby, born in 1957 in Redhill, is a British writer and screenwriter. He studied English at Jesus College, Cambridge, and initially worked as an English teacher and journalist before turning to writing. He became known for the novels »Fever Pitch« (1992), »High Fidelity« (1995), and »About a Boy« (1998). His other works include »How to Be Good«, »A Long Way Down«, »Slam«, and »Juliet, Naked«. Several of his books have been adapted for film. Hornby received Oscar nominations for his screenplays for »An Education« and »Brooklyn«. His passion for Arsenal Football Club provided the starting point for »Fever Pitch«.
