Nick Bostrom

Nick Bostrom, born Niklas Boström in Sweden in 1973, is a philosopher and author. He studied physics, mathematics, neuroscience and philosophy, among other subjects, and earned a doctorate from the London School of Economics. His academic career included work at the University of Oxford’s St Cross College, the Future of Humanity Institute and the Programme on the Impacts of Future Technology. In 2009, he received the Eugene R. Gannon Award for the Continued Pursuit of Human Advancement. He is particularly known for his book Superintelligence, which has been translated into numerous languages.
