Nadine Ahr was born in Hanover in 1982. After studying, she attended the Protestant School of Journalism in Berlin and received the Süddeutsche Zeitung’s scholarship for talented journalists. From 2011 onward, she worked for the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT. Her DIE ZEIT dossier “Das Versprechen” received several awards. In her book, she tells the story of her grandparents.
