Nadia Ismail

Dr Nadia Ismail is an art historian specialising in contemporary art. She studied art history, comparative literature and German studies, and has worked at institutions including the Kunstmuseum Bonn, Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Kunstmuseum Mülheim an der Ruhr, the Transfer France–NRW project and the Royal College of Art in London. For Brauweiler Abbey near Cologne, she developed the exhibition series “spiritual ground”. In 2017, she took over the directorship of Kunsthalle Giessen. She has also worked as an art consultant for Hogan Lovells International LLP and as a curatorial adviser for LBBW’s art collection.
