Mustafa Khalifa

Mustafa Khalifa was born in 1948 in Jarabulus, Syria, and grew up in Aleppo. He studied law and became politically active at an early age. As a result of his political engagement, he was arrested twice. After his release from prison in 1994, he was subject to a travel ban and was unable to leave Syria until 2006.
