Monika Peetz (born 1963) studied German, communication studies and philosophy in Munich. After working in advertising and publishing, she was a dramaturge and editor at Bayerischer Rundfunk, and later worked as a screenwriter. She is best known for the bestselling series *Die Dienstagsfrauen*, about five friends; the novels were adapted for television and sold more than one million copies in German-speaking countries. She also published the young adult trilogy *Herz der Zeit*.
