Born in 1964, Monika Celik initially worked as an office clerk and, after completing further training, as a trainer and coach in social matters. She wrote nonfiction and worked as a ghostwriter. She initially published her novels under the pseudonym Elisabeth Duncan. Her novel “Das Leben im Zeichen der Buschbohne” was published under that name in 2017 and later reissued under her legal name. Celik is the mother of three adult children.
