Monika Buschey was born in Bochum in 1954. She studied in Stuttgart and initially worked in theatre before completing a newspaper traineeship in Essen. As a journalist and author, she worked for media outlets including STERN, WAZ and WDR. Her work includes cultural reportage, literary portraits, features and radio plays. In 2008, she received the Prix Ex Aequo for the WDR radio play “Tobias und die Traumtierfachfrau”; in 2014, she was awarded the Children’s Radio Play Prize of the City of Karlsruhe for “Der silberne Klang.” Her books include “Wege zu Brecht” (2007), “Narren des Glücks” (2017) and “Innichen” (2023).
