Monika Albrecht is a cultural studies scholar who worked as a research associate at the University of Vechta and as a DAAD lecturer in the United States. Her research focused on comparative postcolonial studies of Western, Soviet, and Ottoman imperialism, as well as memory studies and the politics of remembrance. She co-edited the critical edition of Ingeborg Bachmann’s “Todesarten” project, the “Bachmann Handbook,” and the volume “Kritische Schriften.” She also published numerous contributions on Bachmann’s work and literary estate, and on twentieth-century German-language literature from a postcolonial perspective.
