Mirko Nottscheid (born 1971) studied German literature, history, and education in Hamburg and received his doctorate in 2006. His professional positions have included work at the Frank Wedekind Editing and Research Center at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and heading the Pictures and Objects department at the Deutsches Literaturarchiv Marbach. His research has focused, among other areas, on the literary and visual history of the eighteenth to twentieth centuries, scholarly editing, the history of German studies and universities, correspondence, and the cataloguing of literary estates. From 2006 onward, he also worked on a DFG-funded research project on the history of literary-philological societies in Berlin between the German Empire and National Socialism.
