Minouche Shafik

Nemat “Minouche” Shafik was born in Egypt in 1962 and emigrated to the United States as a child. She studied economics at the London School of Economics and the University of Oxford. At the age of 36, she became a vice president of the World Bank. In 2017, she became director of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
