Milan Kundera was born in 1929 in Brno, then Czechoslovakia. The writer of Czech origin went into exile in France in 1975, where he continued to publish. His notable works include the novel “The Festival of Insignificance” (2015). He received numerous awards, including the Nelly Sachs Prize (1987), the State Prize for Literature of the Czech Republic (2007), and the Franz Kafka Prize (2020). Kundera died in 2023.
