Mike Mignola

Mike Mignola is an American comic artist, writer, and concept artist. He began his career in the early 1980s as an artist, inker, and cover artist for DC and Marvel. He gained international recognition in 1988 with the Batman story “Gotham by Gaslight.” In 1993, he created Hellboy, which became the center of an extensive comic universe and a repeatedly adapted multimedia franchise. Mignola also wrote and illustrated works including “Baltimore,” “Frankenstein Underground,” and comics featuring Conan. As a concept artist and film illustrator, he contributed to “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” “Blade II,” Disney’s “Atlantis,” and the 1990s Batman animated series. His honors include the Eisner Award and the Bram Stoker Award.
