Miguel Delibes

Miguel Delibes (1920–2010) was a Spanish writer. Born in Valladolid, he studied law and initially worked as a lawyer and teacher of commercial law. He later became editor-in-chief of the newspaper El Norte de Castilla. In 1974, he was elected a member of the Royal Spanish Academy. In recognition of his literary work, he received the 1993 Premio Miguel Cervantes, the most important literary prize in the Spanish-speaking world. His novel The Holy Innocents was adapted for film in 1984.
