Michelle Zauner

Michelle Zauner grew up in the US state of Oregon as the only child of a Korean mother and an American father. As an indie musician, she released her debut album in 2016 under the name Japanese Breakfast. She also became known for a viral article in The New Yorker, in which she wrote about her mother’s death. The article led to her first book, “Tränen im Asia-Markt.”
