At the age of twelve, Michael Heine wrote his first novel, the 28-page chivalric tale “Jung Georg, der Held!” for his father, who had returned from captivity during the war. As an art student, he wrote the essay “Satan” about the atomic bombing of Nagasaki; it was used as required reading in many schools. He later founded an advertising agency, developed campaigns and wrote copy, receiving international awards for his work. In 2018, he turned to writing novels, short stories and thrillers. “Im Spiegel” was his first suspense novel.
