Michael Augustin

Michael Augustin, born in Lübeck in 1953, is a German writer. He studied English and folklore in Kiel and Dublin and worked as a cultural editor at Radio Bremen. He also directed the international literature festival Poetry on the Road and taught as a visiting professor at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. Augustin has published numerous volumes of poetry and short prose, as well as poems, miniatures, collages, and short dramatic pieces. His work has been translated into many languages. He received the Friedrich Hebbel Prize for his literary work. His publications include The Strongest Man in the World and Monument to Baby Schiller. He was particularly fond of writing poems for children.
