Menas Kafatos

Menas Kafatos is an American physicist of Greek heritage. He studied physics at Cornell University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 1967, and received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1972. Kafatos was a professor of computational physics at Chapman University and the founding dean of its Schmid College of Science and Technology. His research has covered cosmology, astrophysics, quantum mechanics, quantum biology, and climate research. He published more than 320 scientific articles and 15 books. His scientific achievements were recognized with the Fletcher-Jones Award.
