Melisa Schwermer, born in Offenbach in 1983, studied German and philosophy in Darmstadt. After training as an industrial clerk and completing her Abitur at an evening school, she worked as a vocational school teacher and university lecturer before establishing herself as a thriller author. Her novel *So bitter die Schuld* was nominated for the 2016 Kindle Storyteller Award. The book marked the beginning of the series featuring investigator Fabian Prior.
