Melanie Vogltanz

Melanie Vogltanz was born in Vienna in 1992. She studied German philology, English studies and teacher education at the University of Vienna, completing a Magister degree. She published her debut novel in 2007, followed by further works of dark fantasy. In 2016, she received the European Science Fiction Society’s Encouragement Award. Her novel “Shape Me” was nominated for the German Science Fiction Prize and the Kurd-Laßwitz-Preis. Vogltanz has worked as a teacher and freelance editor; before establishing herself as a writer, she also worked shelving books, selling toys and carrying dog food.
