Melanie Metzenthin

Melanie Metzenthin, born in Hamburg in 1969, is a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Her professional experience, including working with traumatized people and offenders, informs the characters in her historical novels. Her books frequently explore the history of Hamburg and of medicine. She has received the DELIA Literature Prize for her literary work. Among her best-known works is the historical novel series “Die Hafenschwester” (“The Harbour Nurse”).
