Meike Winnemuth (born in 1960 in Schleswig-Holstein) is a German journalist and author. She worked for publications including Stern, GEO Saison and SZ Magazin and also became known for her travel blog “Vor mir die Welt.” The blog, which attracted more than 200,000 readers, was nominated for the Grimme Online Award in 2012 and received a Lead Award that year. Winnemuth’s books “Das große Los,” “Um es kurz zu machen” and “Bin im Garten” spent several weeks on the bestseller list. “Das große Los” recounts how she won half a million euros on the television quiz show hosted by Günther Jauch and then set off on a round-the-world journey.
