Mehmed Uzun

Mehmed Uzun (1953–2007) was a Kurdish writer and journalist. After 1977, he lived in exile in Sweden after being persecuted and arrested several times in his homeland because of his political and journalistic activities. In addition to literary and cultural criticism, he published six novels. He is regarded as one of the most important modern Kurdish novelists. Uzun died of cancer in October 2007.
