Megan Rapinoe is an American professional footballer. As a member of the United States national team, she won the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015 and 2019, as well as the gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. She took on the national team captaincy in 2018. In 2019, she was named the world’s best female footballer; at that year’s World Cup, she received the Golden Boot as the tournament’s top scorer and was named its best player.
