Max Otte (born 1964) is a German-American economist, financial analyst, and author. He earned his doctorate at Princeton University and held professorships at Boston University, Worms University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Graz. Otte founded the Institute for Wealth Development (IFVE) and worked as a fund manager. His 2006 book *Der Crash kommt* became a bestseller, selling more than 500,000 copies. In 2019, the magazine *Cicero* named him its “Rising Star of the Year” among Germany’s intellectuals.
