Max Goldt, born in Göttingen in 1958, is a writer, satirist, and musician. He began his career as a member of the musical duo Foyer des Arts, formed with Gerd Pasemann, for which he wrote and performed his own texts. Together with Stephan Katz, he published several comic books. Goldt’s work is often characterized by comedy, humor, and satire. His awards include the Kassel Literature Prize for Grotesque Humor (1997), the Richard Schönfeld Prize for Literary Satire (1999), and the Kleist Prize and Hugo Ball Prize (2008).
