Matthias Lutz-Bachmann, born in 1952, is a German philosopher. Since 1994, he has taught philosophy at Goethe University Frankfurt, with particular emphasis on medieval philosophy, practical philosophy, and philosophy of religion. Since 2002, he has also been an adjunct professor in the Department of Philosophy at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, USA. He has held leadership roles at Goethe University, including director of the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften and vice president.
