Matthias Harder studied art history, classical archaeology and philosophy in Kiel and Berlin. From 2004 onward, he worked as a senior curator at the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin and became its director in 2019. He also published articles in art magazines, books and exhibition catalogues.
