Matthias Frehner (born 1955) is an art historian with a doctorate. He directed the Kunstmuseum Bern from 2002 to 2016. From 2016 to 2018, he served as director of the collections of the Kunstmuseum Bern and Zentrum Paul Klee. In 2018, he moved into freelance curatorial work.
