Matt Wagner

Matt Wagner, who comes from Pennsylvania, began working as a full-time comics writer and artist in the late 1980s. During that decade, he developed the independent comic series “Grendel” and “Mage,” writing and drawing much of both himself. They became his major artistic and commercial successes in the 1990s. For DC Comics, he created or worked on “Sandman Mystery Theatre,” “Batman/Grendel,” “Madame Xanadu,” “Trinity,” “Batman and the Monster Men,” “Batman and the Mad Monk,” and stories for “Legends of the Dark Knight.” He also worked on comics featuring Zorro, The Spirit, The Shadow, and the Green Hornet.
