Maryanne Wolf is a professor of child development and a scholar of cognitive science and literary studies. She taught and conducted research at Tufts University in Massachusetts and the University of California, Los Angeles. Her scholarly work focuses on the relationship between the brain and reading, as well as reading difficulties. She has received numerous awards for her work. Her book Das lesende Gehirn was published in German in 2009.
