Martina Frei, M.D., was born in 1965 and studied medicine in Freiburg and Munich. She subsequently worked for eight years as a physician in Germany and Switzerland. After training at the Ringier School of Journalism, she moved into journalism and worked as a science editor at Zurich’s Tages-Anzeiger. Her medical case stories appeared there as a weekly column. In 2010, she published the book *The Girl with Two Blood Types*.
