Martin Broszat (1926–1989) was a German historian. He joined the Institute of Contemporary History in Munich in 1955 and served as its director from 1972 until his death. In 1966 he was a visiting professor at Oxford and also held honorary professorships at the universities of Constance and Munich. His major publications include “National Socialism: Worldview, Programme and Reality” (1960), “200 Years of German Policy toward Poland” (1964), and “After Hitler” (1986). He was also the general editor and a co-author of the six-volume series “Bavaria in the Nazi Era” (1977–1983).
