Markus Feldenkirchen

Markus Feldenkirchen was born in Bergisch Gladbach in 1975. He studied in Bonn and New York before attending the German School of Journalism in Munich. He began his career at the Tagesspiegel and worked as an editor and reporter for Der Spiegel from 2004, including as a correspondent in Washington. His journalism has received several awards, including the Axel Springer Prize for Young Journalists, the Körber Foundation Journalists’ Prize and the German-American Arthur F. Burns Journalism Prize. Feldenkirchen is the author of the novels Was zusammengehört (2010) and Keine Experimente (2013). His report on Martin Schulz’s election campaign was named Reportage of the Year in 2017.
