Mark Solms, Dr. med., is a neuroscientist and psychoanalyst regarded as a founder of neuropsychoanalysis. He served as Director of Neuropsychology at the Neuroscience Institute of the University of Cape Town and held teaching and honorary positions at institutions including University College London, the IPU Berlin and the Anna Freud Centre. In 2001, he was named “Psychiatrist of the Year” by the American Psychiatric Association. Solms edited the English retranslation of Sigmund Freud’s collected works, published in 2024.
