Mark Schieritz (born 1974) studied politics and economics at the University of Freiburg and the London School of Economics, where he completed his degree. He began his journalistic career at the Financial Times Deutschland, where he worked for seven years and headed the financial markets desk. He later worked as an economic policy journalist in the Berlin bureau of Die Zeit. Schieritz received the Ernst Schneider Prize of the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Media Prize of the Keynes Society. His books Die Inflationslüge and Der Lohnklau were published by Droemer Knaur.
