Mark Kingwell, born in 1963, is a Canadian philosopher who was a professor of philosophy at the University of Toronto. His areas of research include social theory, political philosophy, aesthetics and popular culture. He is a member of the Royal Society of Canada and has received several awards for his academic work and teaching. Kingwell has published numerous essays and monographs, including *Better Living* (1998) and *The World We Want* (2000); his books have been translated into ten languages. His work *Nach der Arbeit* was published in German in 2018.
