Mark Haddon

Mark Haddon was born in Northampton in 1962 and studied English literature at Merton College, Oxford. He subsequently worked for six years with people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Haddon wrote scripts for BBC children’s programming and received two BAFTA Awards for his work. His novel *The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time*—published in German as *Supergute Tage oder Die sonderbare Welt des Christopher Boone*—became an international bestseller, appeared in 24 countries, was adapted for film, and won the Whitbread Award. His other novels include *A Spot of Bother* (2007).
